Tuesday, April 16, 4-5 p.m.  Branch Program –  Engaging with the Breast Cancer Coalition
Our speaker, Helana Shumway, Breast Cancer Community Engagement Liaison, will speak to us about the organization’s mission, what has been accomplished by this community-based organization over the last 26 years, and update us on the age of those who are turning to them for support these days.

Thursday, April 17 and 24, 10:30 am -12:00 pm – Coffee House Circle – at Jolene Smith’s. Please contact Jolene at 239-784-6636 if attending. On April 17 and continuing on the 24th, participants will discuss the book Social Justice Fallacies by Thomas Sowell. Carol Richardson will lead the discussion. Join the Circle for an exploration of a topic about which we all need more information and insight. It will be a terrific opportunity to share your ideas and learn from your FAB friends.

Monday, April 22, 7:00 pm – Book Group –  via Zoom. The Shadow Docket by Stephen Vladeck  is this month’s selection. The author has noticed the Court’s increased use of formerly rare unsigned, unexplained “emergency” rulings, occasionally issued at odd hours of the day. These so-called “stealth” rulings may impact the lives of millions of Americans, causing lawyers and citizens alike to scratch their heads in a quandary. This decrease in the Court’s effort toward transparency should be of concern to all since it has the potential to significantly change the implementation of our rules of law, This book will raise our awareness on that score.
